In the centre of France, near Lyon, the southern Beaujolais is a lively and luminous land remarkable for its yellow ocher stone villages and how the buildings play with the glare of the sun. This stone provides a range of warm colors and gives the originality and charm to this part of the Beaujolais known as "Little Tuscany". It dominates the hilly landscape everywhere, and is used in building houses and castles but also churches, wash houses, wells and walls. Forty villages surrounded by vineyards and hilltops invite you to discover the area. The wine growers welcome you in a friendly manner.

Lyon - Romanèche-Thorins - Beaujeu - Lacenas - Oingt - Lyon

Day 1 - Romanèche Thorins - Beaujeu - Arnas
Starting around 7:30 or 8 am in Lyon or Macon.
You’ll be picked up and head along the winding scenic Beaujolais wine route.
Visit of one of the most prestigious wine producing Chateau in all Beaujolais. Their grapes grow on the Castle's most famous vineyards throughout southern Burgundy at Moulin à Vent, Fleurie, Chénas, Chiroubles, Beaujolais Village, Beaujolais and Saint-Veran.
You’ll further your knowledge about wine and get comfortable matching and tasting food with wine; the owner offers wine courses to better understand the great terroirs of Beaujolais.
In the program:
Visit the cellars of the Castle: a place dedicated to winemaking and aging wine in old barrels
Visit the Windmill: Tradition and Heritage, panoramic view of the vineyards of Beaujolais
Participate in a tasting course on site.  
Buffet of cold meats and cheese for a tasty break
Tasting Saint-Veran, Chiroubles, Fleurie and some old vintages of from Moulin à Vent!
1 Bottle of White beaujolais blanc, will be given as a takeaway gift.
Lunch is in a vineyard hostel to enjoy regional cuisine.
Continue to follow the Wine Route up to Beaujeu.
Visit Beaujeu, the historic capital of Beaujolais which is located at Heart of Beaujolais and at the door of the principal wines of the area (grands crus): Brouilly, Côte de Brouilly, Régnié, Chiroubles, Fleurie, Chénas, Juliénas, Morgon, Mulin à Vent ... In these beautiful landscapes, the authentic landscapes connects the Saône Valley to the mountainous forests of the green Beaujolais.
Arrive at your accommodation around 18:30.
Dinner and overnight in a beautiful Chateau/guesthouse in the heart of the vineyards.

Day 2 - Arnas - Odenas - Mont Brouilly - Villefranche sur Saône - Oingt
Departure around 9am.
Visit through the cellar of an ancient winery which has a 108 m long wine cellar (the longest Beaujolais  in Beaujolais). Visit through the French gardens around the castle.
Stop on the summit of Mont Brouilly to contemplate the whole Beaujolais region and the Saone Valley.
Lunch at an inn in a vineyard specialist in local cuisine.
Visit the historic center of Villefranche sur Saône.
Wine Route along the crests to the village of Oingt.
Guided tour of the Village of Oingt, ranked among the most beautiful villages in France. Perched above the vineyards of Beaujolais, Oingt is one of the jewels of the "Land of golden stone." Built in the medieval period, the city has retained the old chapel of the castle, the fortified gate of Nizy, the dungeon, and the tower from which you can enjoy an exceptional view over the valley of Azergues, and across an untold number of wineries. At the heart of the village, the yellow ochre façade of the houses of artists and craftsmen open to welcome visitors.
Return to your starting point.
End of services around 18:30 in Lyon or Macon.

Guest House
Located in the heart of the Beaujolais region, This Château Guest House offers a vineyard with free cellar visits and wine tasting. There is also a furnished terrace opening onto the garden, a swimming pool, and it is a 10-minute drive from Villefranche-sur-Saône.
All rooms feature a view of the garden, a seating area, a wardrobe, wooden flooring and tea and coffee making facilities. The en suite bathroom includes a bathrobe and free toiletries.
A continental breakfast serving homemade products is provided each morning at Château. Guests can also enjoy regional cuisine in an evening meal, upon request 48 hours before.
Additional features include visits to the artist’s workshop, a garden and free private parking on site. Lyon Saint Exupéry Airport is ideally located 46 km away and the A6 motorway is an 8-minute drive from the property.
